Farm Store News Great news from our kitchen!  Chef Adam has two brand new ovens which will provide state of the art cooking capabilities, bringing you the finest prepared foods.  What will he use new ovens for? To bake pies, roast all the vegetables that go into our pot pies as well as the chicken, turkey and beef. Chef Adam will also be making all the side dishes that are offered for Thanksgiving to complement your turkey. On another front, we have two additional refrigeration units to store all of the turkeys when we process them next month. These caramel apples are a tried-and-true favorite year after year. —Gail Prather, Bethel, Minnesota     Ingredients: ½ cup butter, cubed 2 cups packed brown sugar 1 cup light corn syrup Dash salt 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 10 to 12 Popsicle sticks 10 to 12 medium tart apples, washed and dried 1 cup salted peanuts, chopped   Directions: In a large heavy saucepan, melt butter; add the brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. As the weather becomes chilly, we look for comfort foods to warm us up after spending an active day apple picking, bike riding or hiking along the canal or whatever outdoor event you enjoy.  Nothing says comfort and warmth like soup. We have a wide variety of homemade soups, made right here on the farm.  They include; butternut squash, lentil bean, chicken vegetable, french onion, minestrone, potato leek, wild mushroom and chef Adam's specials for the holidays.
